In Brazil’s Maranhão state—along the southern edge of the Amazon—we’re helping restore one of the most critical ecosystems on Earth. This mangrove reforestation project brings life back to degraded forest areas while supporting Quilombola communities, descendants of escaped slaves who rely on fishing for survival.
